There’s nothing like a tasty beverage to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Coffee is a popular choice, but chai tea is pretty yummy too!

I used to drink coffee quite a bit. I was definitely a bit of a coffee addict. The pleasant aroma, the wonderful taste … I mean, how could a person not like coffee, right?

As much as I love coffee, I realize that I really don’t like the way it makes me feel. After drinking coffee, I often have heart palpitations, and feel sick to my stomach.

With that said,  I’ve really cut back on my coffee consumption!

This is where chai tea comes into the picture. I’ve always loved chai. It’s a wonderful blend of spices and flavor.

Chai tea is very simple to make! And, if you’re looking for a guilt free beverage that will satisfy your taste buds, and make you feel good too, this is your drink!

A little bit about the ingredients used in this recipe:

Almond Milk – heart healthy, monounsaturated fat … good source of antioxidant vitamin E

Cloves – smell amazing … breath freshener … helpful for indigestion … antibacterial … antiparasitic

Ginger – soothes the throat … great for digestion … adds a spicy note to the tea

Cinnamon – helps with blood circulation … antiseptic … antibacterial … adds a heavenly taste and smell

Clear Agave Syrup – an excellent sweetener … contains inulin (a prebiotic ), so it promotes the growth of friendly gut wall bacteria

I use homemade almond milk in my chai tea, and it’s amazing! Homemade cashew milk is another great choice. It adds some creamy goodness to this recipe! Use whatever nut or seed milk you like. You can also chill this tea for a nice treat on a warm summer day.

As always, I encourage you to play around with the recipe! Customize it to you your liking!
