Detoxification techniques are going to become an essential part of any healthy lifestyle, I think so anyway.

The world we live in is heavily polluted, and it’s only getting worse. From the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat, we are constantly being exposed to toxic, health hazardous substances. Which, I think, is a definite and direct threat to our health and well-being.

These toxic substances, many in the form of heavy metals (aluminum, mercury, cadmium, lead, etc.), slowly accumulate in our bodies, and in time, cause various “age related” diseases. Conditions like, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, heart attacks, etc.

There are some great documentaries that bring these topics to light. Some of the ones I like include, Food Matters, The Great Culling: Our Water, and Why in the World are They Spraying?

Detoxification, by fasting, is a powerful way to aid your body in the elimination of toxins. A health practice that is going to become more and more important as we continue to dump pollutants into our environment.

In their book, The Miracle of Fasting by Paul Bragg (N.D., Ph.D.,Life Extension Specialist) and Patricia Bragg (N.D., Ph.D., Health & Lifestyle Educator ), it’s suggested to do a weekly, 24 to 36 hour distilled water fast.

You might think that sounds crazy, but once you become aware of some of the amazing health benefits associated with water fasting, it won’t seem so crazy! You’ll probably want to try it out.
